The poem “Souacing Russia” is one of the most significant works of the mature period of the work of G. V. Sviridov. Initially, it was written for Tenor, accompanied by piano, then the author made the editorial office for Mezzo-soprano and, together with E. V. Obraztsova, himself performed and recorded it on the record. Later, M. A. Arkadyev, specifically for D. A. Hvorostovsky, proposed the editorial office for the baritone with the piano, and with this edition the duet traveled the whole world in the early 1990s. Thanks to Hvorostovsky, the poem gained fame far beyond the borders of Russia. Now this poem has become one of the most popular composer vocal works in the world. The poem exists in numerous transformations for different compositions of performers - for voice with a symphonic orchestra, with the orchestra of folk instruments, for the voice, children"s choir and orchestra of folk instruments, for the female choir, accompanied by piano, etc. The composer himself intended to shift the poem for the voice with a symphony orchestra .
The proposed publication reproduces the author’s edition for Mezzo-soprano, accompanied by piano and is addressed to performers, students and teachers of vocal departments of musical educational institutions and a wide range of music lovers
