The Inventions of I. S. Bach are familiar from childhood to everyone who studied music. This, according to K. Rosenshild, "genuine masterpieces of Bakhovsky Polyphony". 15 two-voice and 15 three-headed inventions as amended by F. Buzoni are equipped with executive instructions and extensive notes relating to the analysis of forms, figurative and semantic content, polyphonic principles, sound recovery on the piano, and applications.
Author of comments and translation - N. A. Kopchevsky, who prepared the release of the inventions in 1986, sought to maintain F. Buzoni"s performing instructions in inviolability and to provide the musicians with a carefully verified author"s text.
