Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) turned to the genres of vocal lyrics throughout the creative path, writing about 400 opuses (songs, vocal duets and quartets) The circle of poetic interests of Brahms is unusually wide, the work of romantic poets is most diverse. Emphasizing the prevailing significance of the vocal part over the instrumental, the composer calls his vocal works “songs” or “sung”. The collection includes two cycles of songs of the Op. 47 and Op. 57.
