Franz Wilhelm Ferling (1796-1874) - German Goboist, Clarinetist and Composer. Known, first of all, as the author of 48 sketches for Goboy (so on 31), which are performed by both Hoboists and Saxophonists. Studies were first published in 1840. This opus contains two sketches in each of the foundations, one of them is slow, the other is fast. Studies are oriented as a model on a variety of styles and genres. The collection contains five Bel Canto melodies, six romances, two offers, four Tokkates a la niccolo Paganini, three sketches in the style of slow parts of sonata-symphonic cycles, as well as seven marches, twelve waltzes, four polka, two polonaise and three chaards.
The collection also presents 18 sketches for Goboy Op. 12.
The publication is addressed to stateists, saxophonists, students of music schools and colleges, conservatory students, and teachers
