The monograph is aimed at developing methods and solving problems related to determining the trajectories of space launch vehicles (SLV), as well as the values of parameters defining their design-ballistic appearance when launching spacecraft (SC) into planetary orbits and during space operations for orbit formation and interorbital flights. The monograph presents the formulation and solution of a number of methodological problems related to determining the energy costs of SLVs, as well as finding optimal trajectories and engine operation modes when launching SC into orbits. Equations of motion of a variable-mass point have been developed for special cases, allowing for an approximate analytical solution of the differential equations of motion of SLVs on certain segments of the trajectory, as well as solving the boundary problem for placing a satellite into orbit in a single trajectory calculation without an iterative process. Based on the obtained solutions, the author analyzes the main design principles of SC launch vehicles, as well as a series of studies and generalizations. Solutions to a number of problems related to determining SC trajectories within the Earth's and Moon's sphere of influence are provided. An assessment of payload capacity and trajectory characteristics of SLVs when launching SC into orbits of the major planets of the Solar System: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Earth, as well as the Moon is given. An analysis of trajectories and methods for delivering payloads to the libration points of the Earth-Moon system, as well as to their halo orbits, is conducted.
