The monograph considers the question of the nature of the modern state, formulates a priority for political science the agenda of state research in the context of the formation of new political spaces. The authors analyze the transformations of the national state in conditions of global instability and relevant trends in the development of statehood in the countries of the European Union and in the post -Soviet space. Alternatives of the state reformatting in the conditions of occurring shifts in the world order, in the political landscape and social structure of society, in the values and landmarks of the identity of a person of the 21st century were revealed. Predictical assessments of the change in the political and managerial functions of the state are substantiated, taking into account the complication of modern social reality and the emergence of new security and development challenges
