The monograph considers the functioning of the category of inexpressible in philosophy, theology, literary criticism, linguistics, the denotative area of the semantics of the inexpressible is characterized, the differences in the narrow and wide understanding of the semantics of the inexpressible are shown, the features of similarities and differences in the meanings of the inexpressible, as well as the semantic of the invisible and incomprehensible. The inexpressible is considered as a functional-semantic category in the aspect of functional grammar, the means of expressing the semantics of the inexpressible, their hierarchical organization, the features of the functioning of the category of the inexpressible in language and speech are shown.
