In this small book, which is one of the last volumes of the Homo Sacer project, Georgio Agamben reaches and considers some issues of political thought and philosophy - about the civil war, the people and his attitude with the state, sovereign and the enemy. Unlike the large “archaeological” books of Agamben, the three texts presented in this book are three readings and interpretations: the works of the great French Hellenist Nicole Loro, engraving, opening the “Leviathan” of Hobbes, and the famous “concepts of political” Karl Schmitt. Using its characteristic philosophical and philological tools, Agamben reveals a number of paradoxes on which Western politics was based from the very beginning, as well as the unresolved of these paradoxes, which are largely determining the current time
