The book presents the history of the establishment and development of Soviet-Mongolian scientific cooperation since the beginning of the 1920s. Prior to the creation of the Academy of Sciences of the MPR in 1961, scientific contacts with Mongolia during this period were distinguished by their intensity and disciplinary variety among other areas of international activity of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The work considers the reasons for the large -scale Soviet scientific initiatives in Mongolia, their goals, objectives, content, legal support, main joint projects. The numerous archival materials used in monographs from the Russian and Mongolian archives made it possible to analyze the Soviet-Mongol scientific contacts in a wide socio-political context. Much attention in the book is paid to specific participants in scientific interaction - Soviet and Mongolian scientists, their motivations and research programs, personal contribution to the scientific cooperation of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the MPR Sciences Committee.
