The second release of the book series Dialogue represents the monograph by the Doctor of Historical Sciences Alexander Krylov The State of the South Caucasus in the context of international politics.
The collapse of the USSR in 1991 changed the political map of the world. On the territory of the former single state, a post -Soviet space was formed, in which the Russian Federation borders and interacts with the new states of Eurasia. The Russian and Soviet Transcaucasia was transformed into the South Caucasus - a separate region that is important in the modern system of international relations. Over the three decades of the independent development of the state of the South Caucasus, they have lost a high degree of socio-economic and cultural homogeneity, which was inherited from Soviet times. The growing political, ideological and mental-civilization differences, as well as the desire of non-regional players in the region of the region as instruments of their policy, contribute to the preservation of the high potential of conflict in the region’s scale and within each of the countries, and increase the likelihood of new shocks and military conflicts.
The book is addressed to historians, Caucasus, political scientists and everyone who is interested in the history of the Caucasus, post -Soviet and international problems
