Ruslan Mellin is a maxillofacial surgeon and a modern Russian artist. In 2020, being in the "Red Zone", he created a series of drawings "My" sick "reality". However, the most fame was brought to him by expressive pencil sketches, united in a series "violence in faces". In these drawings, Dr. Mellin depicted his patients who became victims of someone else"s cruelty, and in the book of the same name he told their real stories. He showed how fear, helplessness, shame and despair are hidden behind the physical injuries of heroes. Over the years of medical practice, Ruslan Mellin was faced with many atypical, shocking cases and was convinced that everyone could become a victim of violence.
