The collective monograph continues the book series The St. Petersburg School of Journalism and Mass Communications published by the scientists of St. Petersburg State University. The book presents the results of the research project “Scientific and Pedagogical Schools of Journalism in Russia”. The initiator and scientific and methodological center of the work was the Department of Theory of Journalism and Mass Communications of the St. Petersburg State University, the collection and comprehension of materials, as well as the spelling of the monograph, included representatives of many other departments and universities of Russia and foreign countries. Using original methods, the authors trace the process of forming domestic scientific and pedagogical journalism schools, reveal their peculiar qualitative characteristics and achievements, create a gallery of professional and creative portraits of their outstanding representatives, determine the leading development trends of this industry of cognitive and educational activities.
