The monograph tells about the rules and norms of international communication, adopted in almost all states on the basis of centuries -old experience. At the same time, the features of the state protocol and diplomatic etiquette in different countries are revealed, which were formed under the influence of national traditions and specific forms of personal behavior of their citizens. It is shown how the protocol and etiquette, having gone through a number of historical stages, have now become more democratic, but have not lost their significance as a manifestation of respect and friendliness in relation to partner countries and their representatives.
