The study is devoted to the important direction of the foreign and domestic policy of modern Canada. Although the country is not a member state of a "nuclear club", it traditionally plays a significant role in international relations in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. This role is determined by the scientific, economic and military potential of the country, its special relations with the USA and NATO membership.
However, the position of Canada, its actions in the international arena have not remained unchanged in the last three decades. It is these changes, the identification of the dominant trend, the causes that underlie the foreign policy of Canada regarding the problem of nuclear weapons and are the subject of a scrupulous study in a book conducted with the involvement of a wide range of sources. The author also considers Canada"s initiatives in relation to certain types of ordinary weapons.
