The collective monograph is dedicated to the highest military award of Russia, which retained the highest status from the time of its institution in 1769 to the present day. This study reflects the current stage of studying the history of the legendary Russian award with the involvement of new archival data, an analysis of mutual influence in the creation of the famous military orders of Europe, based on the consideration of legislative order documents, as well as the introduction of unknown pharyberry monuments. Particular attention is paid to the awards of the Order of St. George of representatives of the House of Romanov and European monarchs, their order signs stored in museum and royal meetings. The authors of articles reveal the history of the creation and development of the Russian military order, turn to the history of the famous European orders under the auspices of St. George, talk about the traditions of the day of the St. George Cavaliers, return the names of hundreds of nameless St. George Crosses stored in museum meetings.
