This monograph was prepared by a team of leading Russian scientists involved in scientific research in the field of migration security of the population. Comparative studies devoted to the issues of migration of the population have shown the lack of modern methods for assessing the level of migration security of the regions. In the work, the role of the Institute of Migration Security is substantiated in improving the efficiency of the use of migration flows for the economic development of territories, taking into account regional characteristics. A methodological approach to assessing migration security is presented, which includes the principles and criteria for assessing safe development, determining the indicators of the permissible and its current state, as well as criteria for evaluating threshold values of the migration security indicator. Labor laws ensuring the migration security of the regions are considered.
