The book discusses the foreign policy of the United States in the context of increasing the likelihood of armed conflicts of low intensity. The United States is faced with serious challenges, the main reasons for which are explicit imperial overstrain and lack of resources to solve the problem of preserving American global leadership. The growth of the military-technical potential of such non-Western centers as Russia and China made official Washington look at the likelihood of low intensity conflicts, both with non-state entities and with other states and the results of these conflicts for the American armed forces.
The ruling circles of the United States are forced to pay special attention to the so -called hybrid conflicts. In the course of such conflicts, non -state entities can quickly transform into fairly effective quasi -states. Under these conditions, official Washington pays great attention to the development of the latest armed struggle means, and here the United States has large technological tunes, especially with regard to high -precision weapons on small, smaller and medium -range media, as well as missile defense systems in theaters of military operations
