This monograph is devoted to the study of the personal name as a component of the general language national-specific anthroponymic system and the communicative space of the United States. The work investigates the functioning of the name in a foreign language environment from the point of view of its pragmatic capabilities in the context of the micro and macroistory and the linguistic culture of its media - the individual as a linguistic person. It is shown that the national anthroponymic system is characterized by dynamism, manifested in the renaming, changing the form and volume of cultural and historical information in the name, which are determined by the spatio-temporal parameters of the identification of the individual. Anthroponymic transformations that acquire social, cultural and psychological significance demonstrate that there is an inextricable connection between the change of name and the searches for the individual of his identity.
