"Lexicology of the modern Russian language" N.M. Shansky --- one of the first monographic studies of the vocabulary of the Russian language, which largely determined the development of this branch of linguistics in our country.
The book proposed to the attention of the reader reproduces the text of the publication in 1972 (1st ed. --- 1964) with the exception of sections describing the phraseological system of the Russian language (section "phraseology") The monograph contains a characteristic of the word as the main language unit and its place in the lexical system
