The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the largest religious, economic, political, scientific, educational, cultural and sports centers in Russia. The Kazan Kremlin is among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On its territory, the Muslim mosque Kul-Sharif, striking in its size and beauty, and the Orthodox Virgin Monastery, where pilgrims and tourists can worship the famous icon of the Kazan Mother of God.
It is a pity that the recent fire partially destroyed the unfinished temple of all religions (it is also called the Ecumenical Council), built at his own expense, architect Ildar Khanov and donations. According to the plan, this structure was to symbolize the unity of religions, cultures and civilizations, since the Orthodox Church, the Muslim mosque, the Jewish synagogue, and the pagoda are united in the architectural ensemble of the building.
However, you can go to any of the eight route proposed in the guide and you will not be mistaken: in the city center and Kazan Kremlin, in the Old Tatar settlement and in the vicinity of Kazan State University. Be sure to plan the trips of the Raifsky Virgin Monastery and to Elabuga, to Veliky Bulgar and Sviyazhsk.
