A collective monograph opens the book series "Petersburg School of Journalism and Mass Communications", prepared by scientists of St. Petersburg State University. The authors set themselves the task of observing and summarizing the material accumulated by theorists of journalism. What is the theory of journalism in Russia today? How is it related to world trends in the study of journalism and media sphere? What is its national-cultural originality?
