The book consists of two parts. The main part is occupied by a consolidated hydronymic catalog - an ordered on the hydrographic principle a collection of water and correlated names of other types localized within the Meta River basin. The names are extracted from modern and ancient cards, materials of modern, ancient and medieval writing, field fees and archival data. In the total amount, the catalog contains more than 6,000 hydronyms (along with options) and about 1800 non -hydrony names, mainly names of villages and tracts. This is the most complete streamlined representation of the hydronymic hydronyms well known in Russian history of the Meta River, which since ancient times served as a trading waterway connecting the system of the Baltic and Caspian Seas. Alphabetical pointers and a reverse dictionary of names are given to the catalog. The catalog frames the extensive introductory part and essays on the typology of microsystem relations. There are cartographic materials.
