The monograph for the first time conducts comprehensive and systemic analysis of human rights journalism as a subject-thematic specialization, the dynamics of human rights issues of the Russian press in a socio-political context is studied. The definition of the concept of "human rights journalism" is introduced into scientific circulation, human rights function as a tradition of Russian journalism is justified, the structure of journalism of the human rights movement, its substantial aspect is revealed. The empirical base of the study was the publication of Russian newspapers Vedomosti, Kommersant, Izvestia, the Russian newspaper and the St. Petersburg Vedomosti for the period January 2011-January 2017. In 2018, the author of the monograph defended the dissertation on the topic of this study
