The book is dedicated to everyone who works in the strict conditions of modern reality, where most readers are viewing the article on the smartphone screen while going to the subway, or picks up the book in their hands for only a few free minutes a day. When you turn to a wide audience, control over the reader is almost impossible. Within the walls of the university, the teacher can oblige students to read the book, and then check how much the material is learned. The reader, who is not constrained by the curriculum, usually spends only a few seconds of his precious time to decide whether it is worth taking your book from the shelf (or open by reference), and throws reading if he is not “hooked” on the first page.

The word is your only tool and a trump card, learn to use it with maximum return.

This book is suitable for you if:

You know the material well. Your topic can be complex and specific, but you are doing a great understanding of it.

You know how to write. You can build a phrase and follow the narrative.

It is important for you to reach the reader and share your knowledge or convey a certain thought. You do not write in order to show off with intelligence, but in order to be understood and heard.

Techniques and tips collected in this book will teach you to state the material in an entertaining form available for wide reader circles . In other words, you can get closer to the bar established by your favorite authors of documentary and popular science prose.

From the author
To explain why the book leaves a strong impression, you need to start with what is happening In the reading process. I have no ready -made unambiguous answers, but many questions have accumulated. For example:

Why does a successful metaphor helps to understand or remember the material?

Why are we getting out of strength so quickly when we read about abstract concepts, and how can mental fatigue be facilitated?

Why do some ideas meet subconscious resistance in our country, and how to get around these internal barriers to the writer?

This book grew out of my attempts to answer such questions. I got acquainted with the latest data from cognitive science and turned to experts in areas such as psychology, humor, journalism and rhetoric. All of them generously shared with me experience and tips. I studied the most successful work in the genre of documentary and popular science prose, and also tried to put many recipes in practice. In this book, we will talk about the difficulties that inevitably arise when it is necessary to present the material in an accessible and exciting form. We will discuss the reader experience and try to understand what certain creative techniques are triggered and how you can use them in our own work.

For whom this book is
for authors who need to be able to explain complex topics, Leaving the usual, "home" circle of colleagues and experts.

For all writing people: writers, journalists, copywriters, scriptwriters, playwrights.
