The authors of this book knew Mikhail Gorbachev well. Nikolai Ivanovich Ryzhkov was the Prime Minister of the Soviet Government. In the early years of perestroika, he supported Gorbachev, then opposed him, believing that he was leading the case of the collapse of the USSR. Valentin Sergeyevich Pavlov was the last Prime Minister of the USSR, in 1991 he was a member of the State Emergency Committee. Boris Ilyich Oleinik was the deputy chairman of the Chamber of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
The book shows the whole path of the betrayal of Mikhail Gorbachev: from one Gorbachevsky "campaign" to another, from the congress to the congress, from the first decrees to the last. In addition, much attention is paid to the August “coup "of 1991, - when, according to V.S. Pavlova, members of the State Emergency Committee turned out to be victims of the experimental political intriguer Gorbachev
