Sir Halford John McKinder is an English geographer, teacher of Oxford University, a member of the House of Communities of the British Parliament, one of the founders of geopolitics as a science.
In his main work, “Geographical axis of history”, McKinder introduced the concept of Hartland, designating the central part of Eurasia, around which is located in the inner arc (Europe - Arabia - Indochina) and the peripheral arc (America - Africa - Oceania)
Who controls Hartland, he controls the whole world, wrote McKinder.
This is Rimland - the states owning a strip of coast, bordering Hartland and opposing it
