Why did we decide to publish this book
from the third world - in the first "written by one of the brightest politicians of the second half of the twentieth century. In a short time, this person turned a tiny city-star without natural resources into the subject of admiration for the first faces of many world powers. Some praised him, others scolded him, but both of them listened to his words and reckoned with him.
We want the Russian reader to get the opportunity to make his own opinion about this extraordinary person, his experience in managing the country and results.

Li Kuan Yu, the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, was born in Singapore on September 16, 1923 in the family of Chinese immigrants of the second generation. He studied the right in Cambridge. In 1954 he founded a folk action party, which five years later won the election. In 1959, Lee"s thirty-year-old became the first Prime Minister Singapore in history, in 1990 he left this post, retaining the title of Senior Minister of the Cabinet
