The book presents a psychological study of the problem of expressiveness, performed in the methodology and theoretical context of the cultural and historical approach. Expressiveness is understood extremely widely: this is a side of consciousness and behavior in which a person is revealed as a living being, which has his own face, “physiognomy”.
The integrity of perception and behavior, the unity of emotions and movements are the most important phenomena of the expressive function of consciousness. The work considers both the prerequisites for cultural forms of expressive behavior (console tonic components of motor skills, intonation characteristics of sound, etc), and expressive languages that play an important role in the formation of personality, its identity, and an image. A special place is given to the practice of working with expressiveness, its awakening and further design in artistic activity, and transformation into a means of self -regulation of personality.
The book is intended for everyone who is interested in the psychology and practice of art, who seeks to look into the depths of their own I
