The book is dedicated to the memory of the remarkable Soviet and Russian diplomat Vitaly Yakovlevich Vorobyov (1944-2017), who played a significant role in the development and strengthening of relations between the USSR and Russia with the countries of the Far East and Southeast Asia. Of particular importance was the activity of V.Ya. Vorobyov as a diplomat-Kitaist to withdraw to a new stage in cooperation of Russian-Chinese relations, in the formation of a Shanghai organization of cooperation. The collection includes the memoirs of Russian and foreign diplomats who had a chance to meet and work with V.Ya. Vorobyov. Among them - the Ambassador of Russia to the PRC A.I. Denisov and the Ambassador of China to Russia Lee Hui, chairman of the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship, Senator D.F. Mesentsev and many others. Most of the book is occupied by articles, interviews and analytical notes of V.Ya. Vorobyova over the years. Gathered together, they are of considerable interest for everyone who is professionally engaged or interested in international relations and the history of foreign policy of Russia.
