The textbook discusses the main tasks of diplomacy, the historical evolution of diplomatic models and theories is investigated. Much attention is paid to the transformation of diplomatic structures and the reform of the diplomatic service of Russia and foreign countries in the context of globalization, integration and regionalization. A number of sections are devoted to public, economic, network diplomacy and the growing role of multilateral diplomacy. New forms of maintaining relations between countries are considered. An increasingly active role in the world arena of non -governmental actors has been noted. The importance of humanitarian diplomacy is emphasized and the factor of religion in modern international relations is investigated.
