This educational and methodological manual discusses the theoretical and practical foundations of teaching university students of a non-linguistic profile based on audiovisual materials. The definition of “audiovisualization” has been expanded, an audiovisualization concept was developed as a receptive type of speech activity. The mechanism and structure of audiovisualization have been identified. In the manual, it is recommended to rely on the level of the Audiiovisualization structure (stages of its formation) when teaching students the skills of foreign communication. The skills of audiovisualization for university students of a non -linguistic profile have been clarified, a detailed technique has been developed for the development and improvement of foreign -language audiovisual skills in the conditions of training at a non -linguistic university. The determination of each of the following types of audiovisualization was formulated: studying, critical, review, introductory, informational-search, fragmentary, skills of audiovisualization are differentiated depending on the goals. A system of pre -commercial and communicative tasks and exercises has been developed, including control for the development of skills in different types of audiovisualization. The methodology for teaching skills in different types of foreign -language speech activity based on audiovisualization as a receptive type of speech activity is proposed. The skills are described in different types of foreign speech activity that students should own, learning foreign language communication on the basis of audiovisualization. The book sets out the methodological requirements for the creation of a teaching aid, the purpose of which is to develop foreign-language speech skills based on audiovisualization. The help is intended for teachers, students of higher educational institutions, translators, linguists, psychologists, psycholinguists, as well as all those who study foreign languages on one"s own
