The monograph is devoted to a critical analysis of the current state of democratic theory in the context of the challenges that liberal democracies face today. The author turns to the theoretical mainstream - a deliberative approach to democracy, and criticizes it for the inability to identify and resolve political contradictions. Such inability is a consequence of a distorted understanding of the political in deliberative theory. Political as an unpredictable event arises where there is a public denial of the political order, which affects the existential issues of people"s lives. Within the framework of the proposed concept of a political event, the author gives a new definition of political delibery as a way of anticipating and preventing a political event through a preventive resolution of pre -state situations, and also proposes political decisions to overcome the crisis trends of modern democracies.
The book is addressed to a wide range of readers, primarily for philosophers, political scientists, communications researchers, sociologists, journalists, culturalists, specialists in state and municipal administration, as well as all the problems of modern political development
