The book is a theoretical part of the kit that reflects the author’s concept of the course and intended for education workers and the media studying in the continuing education system.
The reader gets acquainted with the basic concepts of speech culture - it is considered as normativeness and expediency of speech, the functional areas of science are also affected. The normative side of the culture of speech involves acquaintance with the norms of the language (norms of orthoepy, phonetics, vocabulary, grammar), with the types and nature of errors, these norms violate. The chapter on expediency introduces speech qualities: accuracy, clarity, logic, relevance, purity, brevity, expressiveness. The chapter dedicated to the functional areas of science, the text, its main characteristics and its types are considered, analyzes the styles of the language and their functioning in various types of speech. All together forms an educational paradigm, which consists in such an presentation of information that would be in demand by students: through the plots, vivid examples, facts - just as the teacher will be able to pass this knowledge to students, lecturer to listeners. Philological knowledge turns out to be addressed to the reader, who in the system of creative intentions will bring them to the information block of his own appeal to the audience, building it meaningfully, as well as organizing it rhetorically and psychologically.
Each topic is considered on significant actual material, with the presentation of the positions of scientists and masters of the artistic word
