The book is dedicated to the dramatic events taking place in Spain in 1936–1939, and is a collection of articles by authorship of a number of leading domestic specialists on the topic, as well as young researchers, compiled according to the results of the round table “Civil War in Spain. Riddles of history. The circle of problems designated and disclosed in the book includes such aspects of war in Russian historiography as an internal conflict in the anti -fascist camp, which resulted in combat clashes in Barcelona in 1937, the motivation and behavior of its sides, the crisis of the republican government, the social revolution proclaimed by anarchists. The phenomenon of the large -scale international participation of volunteers in the armies of the Republic and Franco (for the example of the Irish and Russian White Guards) and the reflection of war and revolution in art and culture are also affected.
