The monograph examines the history of French Christian democracy in the second half of the 20th century: the 1960s, when there are structural changes and wide pluralism of Christian democratic movements, the 1970s, when Christian democracy interacts closely with Zhiscardism, the 1980s-the 1980s- The period of stabilization of electoral and political influence and, finally, the 1990s-the beginning of the XXI century-the period of sunset of traditional political culture and the evolution of the Center, related to the activities of Francois Bair. The focus of attention is the political strategy, ideas, specifics of the electorate, features of political culture, as well as issues of political, social, economic and cultural development of France in the second half of the 20th century.
The monograph is based on the archival funds of the French Christian democratic parties and the presidential archive V. Zhiskar d"Esten, press materials, sociological surveys, research in the field of history, electoral geography and political science of Russian and foreign specialists
