In the book “On Friendship”, scientific journalist Lidia Denvort goes in search of the biological, psychological and evolutionary foundations of friendship. Together with her, we visit the monkeys of the reserve in Puerto Rico and the colony of the Babuins in Kenya in order to explore the social ties of the monkeys, allowing us to understand our own. The author shows that friendship originated at the dawn of mankind: the desire to establish close ties exists among primates. Lydia Denvort also meets scientists working at the advanced borders of brain and genetics research, and discovers that friendship is reflected in the brain waves, genomes, as well as the cardiovascular and immune systems of a person, and loneliness can cause tangible harm to health and increases the risk of death . The author concludes that social relations are critical of health and longevity, and calls for us to pay special attention to our friendly relations, to cultivate our friendship
