The book specifies and develops the program of social epistemology in three directions. Firstly, this is a further understanding of the problems of cognitive communication and the collective subject, which was actualized in the previous works of the author. This issue is considered as a significant watershed between the so -called critical social epistemology (S. Fuller) and analytical social epistemology (E. Goldman) The advantage of the proposed concept in comparison with those indicated in the fact that it introduces into the argumentative arsenal of social epistemology of the idea of M.M. Bakhtina, L.S. Vygotsky and M.K. Petrova, who significantly advance understanding of the communicative nature of knowledge.
Secondly, this book is inspired by ideas that arose as part of a new concept of "social philosophy of science". This is the Russian version of the famous American program "Science, Technology and Society", or an updated version of science in which the philosophy of science plays a leading role. It is noteworthy that it makes it by its subject not only the structure and development of science, not only the external social context of its existence, but premises science as the result of socio -philosophical and interdisciplinary synthesis - the social ontology of science, the social picture of the world. The latter is an integral element of understanding of science and technology as a cultural and civilizational phenomenon.
And thirdly, the book included research on a political turn in the philosophy of science, which began in the West more than forty years ago and today has become especially important for Russia. This turn actualizes the topic "science and politics" and is manifested in the intensive and mutually fruitful exchange between the philosophy of science and the philosophy of politics. In the light of this, the reader can understand the motives of use in the book of philosophical and journalistic notes devoted to the reform of science
