The monograph is dedicated to the analysis of theoretical and methodological foundations of studying the system of career guidance management for high school students in general education institutions in the conditions of a modern metropolis. The central focus of the work is the author's structural-functional model of managing the system of career guidance activities. A significant amount of theoretical material is provided, based on the results of the author's research, allowing to formulate and justify a number of new scientific positions, opening a promising direction in studying the issues of career guidance activities within the sociology of management. The results of a multi-aspect analysis of data from the author's empirical research on the influence of macro- and micro-social factors on the effectiveness of managing career guidance activities in general education institutions in the modern Russian metropolis, using Moscow as an example, are presented. Intended for a wide range of specialists in the field of sociology of management, pedagogy, sociology of education, as well as for leaders of sociological services, teachers, postgraduates, students, and anyone interested in the issues of youth career guidance in the conditions of a modern metropolis.
