We took the best and most accurate, in our opinion, the translation of the Snow Queen "into Russian, made 120 years ago by the spouses by Anna and Peter Ganzen, recycled and edited him, in line with the norms of the modern Russian language.
Andersen was a deeply believer man, and all his fairy tales are permeated with sincere faith in God. The fairy tales of Andersen, who were published in the USSR (except for the academic two-volume edition of 1969), were subjected to censorship that removed any hints of Christian characters, ideas and images. As a result, a lot in the tales of Andersen remained incomprehensible, and sometimes all their meaning changed dramatically. For example, Divine Wonders disappeared from the "Snow Queen" (Devilish, however, left), angels, prayers, psalms and all Christian symbolism, some other fairy tale fragments were subjected to a significant reduction (for example, the revelation of colors in the third history).
In our translation, all these fragments and parts are fully restored.
