There are interesting stories in the world with a continuation. One of them began with the fact that the writer Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky heard a Russian folk fairy tale about an ice girl and composed a poetic fairy tale Snow Maido about love and the eternal revival of nature. After reading it in the winter of 1879-1880, the composer of Rimsky-Korsakov for two with a small month wrote the same name.
In 1882, the Mammoth"s patter Savva Ivanovich decided to play the Ostrovsky play on the home stage in Himself in Abramtsevo and turned to Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov with a request to make scenery and sketches of costumes. He himself took the role of Santa Claus in this formulation. And later, in 1885, in the Russian private opera Savva Ivanovich put the Opera Rimsky-Korsakov Snow Maiden. Sketches of scenery and costumes, of course, made Vasnetsov. In 1899, the artist returned to the image of Snow Maiden and wrote one of the most romantic paintings by depicting a snowy beauty on the edge of the winter forest.
So the story of one fairy tale combined a lot of talented people, and the book that you keep in your hands has become it a modern continuation
