In May 1920, a White Army landing led by General Ulagay landed in Taman. Baron Wrangel was confident that it was in Kuban where he would find not only support from his followers, but also an inexhaustible reserve of Cossack cavalry to create a new army. The basis for such hopes were the Cossack units hiding in the marshes and emissaries infiltrated into Soviet institutions and military structures. It seemed that all that was needed was to give a signal for the uprising in time, lead it, and supply the rebels with weapons and equipment. However, the Bolsheviks understood the looming danger, and loyal party members were sent to Kuban, such as the appointed chairman of the revolutionary committee and the anti-banditry commission, Combrig Andrey Semennoy... The author of this book died during the liberation of Crimea from fascist invaders.
