The American writer Jack London had a contradictory and complex creative path. In his childhood, he was forced to seek work early on. Gold mining became the theme of his first stories, which quickly brought him wide recognition. The most famous cycle of stories and tales about the 'gold fever' - 'Smoke Bellew' - entertainingly and with a great sense of humor tells the story of a man whose life path unexpectedly took a sharp turn. A writer and artist from San Francisco turned into a pioneer prospector in the wild lands of the North, but the harsh reality did not break him, only tempered his character.
