The monograph is devoted to the history of the free royal city of Grades, who became the main reference point of the Hungarian crown of St. Middle Ages. Stephen in Slavonia. Preparing for writing a book, the author worked in the archive of the Zagreb (part of which became part of the XIX century. Gradeans), they used hundreds of published Latin documents. The book has been investigated by the history of crafts in Gradac, domestic social structures, management issues and relationships with the Hungarian-Croatian state, analyzed documents, especially related to the emergence of a grelder and other Slavon cities, shows the role of the city in confronting the Turkish threat.
