The book of the Catholic priest Mavro Orbini, The Slavic Kingdom,, which is essentially the first history of all Slavic peoples, may quite claim the title of the most sensational book of the century. It was first published in 1601 in Italy, and immediately this was followed by a series of scandals associated with it. A traditional story took up the book, and after it was a Catholic Church. The publication was immediately entered into the index of prohibited books and miraculously avoided destruction. In 1722, at the personal instructions of Peter I, part of this book was translated into Russian, and now we are representing a full version translated from the Old Testament language
