Slavic Antiquities. The Tale of Svetozar

Each person creates their own Destiny, and Happiness comes only to those who believe in themselves, in their abilities, who are able to find what they are destined for. The main idea of the 'Tale of Svetozar' is loyalty to one's calling, which is understood as the highest meaning of life. Through the character of the main hero - Prince Svetozar, - the author, historian, and psychologist, shows that it is important for each person to strive for self-discovery, self-development, and self-improvement in order to find themselves and their place in the world. But the meaning of life is not just a personal category. We live in society, interact and influence each other. In the pages of the book, the image of the Prince, the story of his life and reign become a moral example, a guiding star for the young Prince, who, by emulating the Prince, shapes his personality and ultimately finds his true calling. The work is imbued with philosophical reflections on the nature of power and the inevitable cycle of causes and consequences of all our actions, on what history is and what is the place of each individual in it. The 'Tale' does not belong to the genre of historical novel, although it is based on specific historical material. However, it carries within it the moral traditions of antiquity, the cultural heritage of our common past, relying on the idea of serving people, mutual assistance, and mutual understanding as the immutable foundation of human society. It is to these values that the main hero - Prince Svetozar - remained faithful throughout his life, and that is why he was able to become and remain himself.
