The main groups of dermatoses, characteristic of newborn and infants, are considered, the skin of which in structure and functions is significantly different from adult skin. Much attention is paid to the issues of physiology of healthy and pathologically altered skin. The infectious diseases of the skin of newborn, hereditary dermatoses, atopic dermatitis, proliferative diseases and a number of rare dermatoses are described. Considerable attention is paid to intrauterine infections, including congenital syphilis, herpetic infection, rubella, etc. The features of etiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture and treatment of dermatoses in newborn and young children are examined in detail.
