"Sitting and watching" is not a novel, not a story, not a collection of stories or an essay. The author defined the genre of the book as a "series of observations". The text arose from the experiment: what happens if you sit in a crowded place, carefully observe what is happening around, and describe the observed, poking a stylus into the smartphone screen in real time? It turned out a rather strange text, about which one can say with confidence: this is an unusual and even, perhaps, innovative type of writing. The experiment lasted about a year and covered 14 cities of Russia, Europe and Israel. From the book, you can learn something new not only about the atmosphere, the spirit of these cities, but also about the very phenomenon of the on reality observation. As an application, the text is placed in the book "146 hours", related by the method of creation: the author drove on a train from Moscow to Vladivostok and meticulously fixed what was happening outside the window of the car and in the car itself with the help of the same technique - notes in the smartphone. The text is published in an abbreviated version and with the preservation of author"s spelling and punctuation
