Pavel Petrovich Bazhov (1879-1950) was born in the Ural city of Sysert. His mother was a skillful lace, and his father worked as a master at the factory, built here in Peter the first. Paul"s boy went to Yekaterinburg and entered the school, later graduated from the famous Permian spiritual seminary. At the twentieth age, the Bazhov became a popular teacher, then worked as a journalist, editor, wrote books on the history of the Urals, collected folklore.
In 1924, the first book of the Bazhais "Urals" was published - memories of the pre-revolutionary life in the Sute plants, and in 1939 - the most famous work is a collection of Malachite Casket.
In ancient times, people had ideas that underground wealth protect wonderful creatures. About the hostess of the copper mountain, about the Great Poloz, about the mysterious mine of the hums, about the grandmother Sonyushka and her bottomless well with the gems of the Bazhov, the stories and in their own family, and at the factory. All these folklore characters became the actors of his legends in which the fairy tale is bizarrecticly intertwined with real life.
Malachite Casket from year to year was replenished with new ties. She brought the Bazhov nationwide glory - he was awarded the State Prize. In 1944, the Bazhov was awarded the Order of Lenin.
A collection of Malachite Casket rightfully entered the treasury of world literature
