Pavel Petrovich Bazhov (1879-1950) was born in the Ural city of Sysert. His mother was a skilled lace, and his father worked as a master at the factory, built here under Peter the Great. Pavel by a boy left for Yekaterinburg and entered the school, later graduated from the famous Perm Theological Seminary. At the age of twenty, Bazhov became a national teacher, then worked as a journalist, editor, wrote books on the history of the Urals, collected folklore. In 1924, Bazhov’s first book “Urals” was published - memories of pre -revolutionary life at Sysert factories, and in 1939 - his most famous work - a collection of tales "Malachite box"
