The Great Siberian Expedition, organized and conducted by the Russian Geographical Society in 1855-1862, became a phenomenon of great scientific importance in Russia. For the first time, readers are presented with such a detailed collection of documents and materials covering all aspects of the expedition's activities. It includes both official reports from the expedition participants and materials on its preparation, organization, equipment, and implementation, as well as previously unpublished notes and memoirs of its immediate participants. A large number of documents provided by the Scientific Archive of the RGS are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The presented work allows one to assess the scale of the research conducted on previously almost unexplored territories. The book is intended for both professional geographers and all readers interested in the history and exploration of Siberia and the history of geographical discoveries in general.
